Wyatt is 3 months old today.

He is totally chillin., originally uploaded by kkirk78.

I started back at work today, the same day that Wyatt turned 3 months old. I'm so glad I got to be home that long. I started him in daycare yesterday and he did very good. He is such a good baby. He really only fusses if he is hungry or tired. He loves to talk, talk, talk. This morning when I left for work he was smiling as big as he could to me and just talking away. I wondered why at that moment he couldn't have been crying so it would have made it easier for me to walk away from him. He has discovered that he can sit up now (with assistance of course) so that is all he wants to do. The bumbo is a wonderful thing! We also got a kiddie pool which he seemed pretty indifferent about. He doesn't quite sleep through the night yet but he is pretty close. He goes down between 7:30 and 8pm and wakes up usually between 4 and 5am. It seems every week it has been just a bit later so hopefully it won't be long before it is a few more hours of sleep (for us both). He is really getting to be a lot fun and I can't wait for these next few months. It's so much fun to see him doing new things every week.

Apparently I've been busy

Ok...So I just realized it's been almost a month since I posted anything. Well, we've been quite busy. We sold our house in one week. A young guy is buying it. It is his first home. I go back to work on the 17th of July. So, I have begun packing since anyone that has kids knows how difficult it can be to get stuff done. I want to get as much packed as I can before I start back at work. We are still looking for a job for one of us back in Illinois. The goal is to get us back there and at least one of us have a job. Ideally I would like to stay at home and Toby would work full time but for now we'll take what we can find. We are moving into my grandma's old house in Morrison. She moved into a retirement village and has offered her house to us for awhile. We couldn't pass up the opportunity which is why we are moving now. We weren't planning on moving for a few years.

I went to Toby's parent's house last week. Mary Ann had knee replacement surgery so Wyatt and I went to help her out. They were soooo happy to get to spend a week with Wyatt.

Wyatt is almost 3 months old now. He is such a good baby. He really only cries when he is in the car. He doesn't like how his carseat sits back. He wants to sit right up. It's ok if I can sit in the back with him but horrible if it is just me :( Other than that, he is on a great schedule. He naps regularly and is in bed around 7:30-8 every night. He sleeps til 4am and wakes for a bottle and then sleeps til 7'ish. I wish I didn't have to go back to work. It will be hard to leave him.

Hopefully my next post will be soon saying that one of us has a job back in Illinois! We need all the luck we can get.

Two Months Old!

P1050517_2, originally uploaded by kkirk78.

I am now two months old. How time flies. I am learning a lot of new things almost daily. I smile a LOT. I love to stare at mommy and daddy. Watching them talk is so much fun. I'm learning to use my tongue and mouth to talk back to them even. We have a lot of conversations although they can't always understand me. Just today I learned what those plastic keys are for that mommy keeps trying to make me hold-TO EAT! Their not as good as my bottle though. I've learned when dinner is coming too...when that bib goes on me I know the bottle is coming right up. I have made a friend, his name is J.R. He is 8 months older than me. In my first two months I have been to the zoo, a baseball game, the pool, the park, Kentucky, Indiana and Illinois. Wow just thinking about where I have been is making me tired...time for a nap. Goodnight.
Love,
Wyatt

Gotta love Craigslist.

So I love reading posts on craigslist. Half the time their spelling and grammar is completely wrong. This is the best one I have seen in awhile. It was for some gerber baby cereal, I think.

Here is what they posted, "Hi i have 2 box cereal for baby, never open,i have 2 more box but is open,my baby i dont like,it you need let me know.thanks. "

Is she trying to get rid of the cereal or the baby?

I'm cute...

I'm cute sometimes..., originally uploaded by kkirk78.

So, I'm 6 weeks old now. I am starting to be more awake and look at mommy and daddy. They make funny faces at me and sometimes I smile at them. But it just makes them make more faces. My day consists of waking up mommy to feed and then most of the time I am awake for awhile. Sometimes she puts me on the play mat and I find enjoyment in staring at this red bug that hangs from it. Sometimes I can even hit it. Then I usually take a nap for awhile and wake up to eat again. The rest of the day is the same thing, eat, sleep and poop-all in various orders.

Mommy is trying to teach me how to grab things. I like to make fists with my hands but she is insisting on spreading my fingers open. I guess it's ok because I learned how to grab my blanket so I could sleep better. Thanks mommy.

Wyatt.

Wyatt started smiling

P1040977, originally uploaded by kkirk78.

Wyatt started smiling last night. I just happened to catch it on video too. It was a small smile but it was still a smile. You can watch it on my flickr page. This picture I snapped this afternoon. He was very smiley for about 2 min and then he fell back asleep. He has been having some problems with reflux so I took him to the dr yesterday. He is now on medication and I'm hoping within a few days he will be a happy baby most of the time instead of once in awhile. I felt bad but you could tell he was just uncomfortable most of the time. It broke my heart to watch him in pain. He seems to be doing a bit better already. He's also starting to reach for some things. He has a mirror that hangs in his crib that has a bee that hangs off of it. I put him in there when I change his clothes. In the last couple of days, he has learned how to grab it. It's so funny cause his hand will grab it and then you can tell he gets excited that he actually touched it and his legs and arms will flail about. This parenting thing is starting to get a bit fun now...
